Location - Conference "Fragile - Handle with Care!"

Giessen is located about 60 kilometres/40 miles north of Frankfurt/Main
close to the center of Germany.

may be inaccurate on some navigation systems.

How to get there by car:

From the south on motorway A5, change to A45 at Gambacher Kreuz
direction Giessen. Then get on A485 at Giessener Südkreuz.
Take exit Schiffenberger Tal (continued below).

From the north on A5 take exit Fernwald towards Giessen,
then get on A485 (Giessener Ring) direction Frankfurt,
take the next exit Schiffenberger Tal (continued below).

From the west on A45 exit at Wetzlar-Ost to B49
towards Giessen. Drive on the left lane at Bergwerkswald
and get on the Giessener Ring, then take exit Schiffenberger Tal.

At exit Schiffenberger Tal drive about 500 meters direction
Universität. Turn right into Karl-Glöckner-Strasse.
At the end of Karl-Glöckner-Strasse turn right just
before the gate and drive all the way through the narrow
road to the parking lot. Then follow the signs.


How to get there by train/bus:

At Giessen railway station take bus number 10
until the final stop (Rathenaustrasse), get off and
follow the signs. Alternatively, take bus 2 or 5
and change at Marktplatz to bus 801/802 direction
Rathenaustrasse.

Giessen is dominated by its University and the University of
Applied Sciences. Around 45% of the whole population (approx. 75000)
are students, which is by far the highest rate of all German
university cities.
